A few days ago a friend of mine told me about Human Design. I am always keen to learn more about myself, I guess that is also the curious child mind in me. I have downloaded my personality test results and amongst a huge load of information it also said I am a storyteller. That resonates with me, as for a long time I always felt the “need” to share some of my experiences. My blogs are stories of my life. Life experiences that could teach, uplift others or they might find inspiration in them. Even if there is only 1 person whom it reaches, touches and inspires it was worth it. This time I invite you to awaken your playful inner child.

The older we get the more we have the tendency to lose the childish innocence within. I guess the challenges of life turns off that part of us. However, that playful child within never really grows up, he/she keeps seeking experiences of playfulness, joy through us. The more we are willing to remain playful and connect with our inner child I believe the longer we stay young. Who says you cannot be silly, wild and free over 40, 50 or even 60?! There is a funky poster of a really old couple in an Indian restaurant wearing magenta pink clothes and having a real hippie look. How cool is that! There is time for being serious, but fun and joy is essential, too. I for example always sit on swings if I see one. It provides a great sense of liberation and joy. I also love Disney movies, there is so much truth and teaching in them. Board games are magical. Dancing is a great one, too. Do you ever just dance at home? Turn your favourite music on and start moving, shaking, rolling? It brings up so much joy. My favourite is Celtic fairy music. It shakes me up, I jump and hop and twist and turn, it makes me want to fly. When I take life too seriously, I usually see squirrels. They are the best symbols of reminding us to be more playful.
A few days ago, I was walking in the park, and I spotted a beautiful poster of an enchanted forest. My fairy like inner child instantly jumped with curiosity. So, I went closer and realized it is an interactive exhibition for children in the museum. It is about a forest and its animals and a witch who cast a spell on the forest. There was no hesitation in me. I knew I would go. In the past I would have looked for an alibi child of a friend or family, but today I decided I am going to be brave and fear no judgment going alone. As I was buying my ticket at the counter, the cashier looked at me slightly puzzled and asked “Is it just you”? I boldly replied YES! A woman with her 3 kids standing behind me in the queue looked at me smiling and said “ I would totally do the same if I had no kids”. So that was that. I am glad to know it is not just me who is fascinated with children’s programs.
As I walked into the exhibition room it became even more exciting as I had to use stickers of crystals to indicate the answers in the puzzle to be resolved. Yuppeeyaaayeee How wonderful! I love crystals, too. My inner child was overjoyed. The images and exhibition elements were also enchanting. I remembered how when I was about 30 years old, I dreamed of creating a real outdoor enchanted forest for families with puzzles to solve from different fairy tales. It remained a dream, but this exhibition was close enough to give me the satisfaction of an unfulfilled dream.
I was diligently doing all the puzzles, I really enjoyed it and even learnt a few things I did not know about animals and plants. I had a great time. It gave me a great deal of joy. Something we badly need in the crazy world we live in.
What is your way of inviting your inner child out to play? What makes you jump with joy? What makes you drop the serious adult behavior? Go out and have some fun! Invite joy into your life!

PS.: If you happen to be in Budapest, pay a visit to the Museum of Agriculture, where you find this exhibition until 25 May 2025. Although it is in Hungarian, I have seen Japanese people using Google translate functions having a great time.
